05 Set Readiness & Etiquette (Master)

Description

This module prepares students for success on set by emphasizing the importance of set readiness, professional etiquette, and physical and mental preparation. Set readiness means being punctual, prepared with basic supplies, and ready to contribute immediately. It also involves understanding the perspective of your employer and assisting in problem-solving, key qualities that can secure future job opportunities. Students will learn to navigate last-minute calls, anticipate schedule changes, and adapt to the demands of long hours and unpredictable conditions.

The module covers industry-standard etiquette, including respecting the chain of command, maintaining a quiet and safe work environment, and communicating professionally with colleagues. Safety practices, like managing equipment placement and preventing hazards, are also integral. Additionally, students gain an understanding of the Employer of Record (EOR), management of production payroll, and compliance with labor laws. By mastering these skills, students build the foundation for a professional, reliable presence on set.
