09 Logistics: Production Office & Accounting (Master)

Description

This module delves into the roles and functions of the Production Office and Accounting Department, the logistical backbone of any film or television production. The Production Office acts as the hub for coordination and communication, ensuring the smooth flow of information and resources across departments. Key players include the Unit Production Manager (UPM), Production Supervisor, and Production Office Coordinator (POC), supported by a team of assistants, secretaries, and travel coordinators, all working to maintain efficiency from pre-production through Principal Photography.

The Accounting Department tracks expenses, manages payroll, and ensures financial accountability. Led by the Production Accountant, the team handles critical tasks such as cost reporting, purchase orders, vendor payments, and crew payroll, keeping the production on budget. This module highlights the collaboration between these departments and their importance in supporting every aspect of production, from scheduling and finances to vendor relationships and daily operations.
